This workshop explores how Magna Mirrors South-East Europe (MMSEE) is transforming its manufacturing facility in North Macedonia into an advanced, connected, and data-driven smart factory. Rooted in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the session examines how MMSEE bridges machines, people, and data using the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Attendees will learn how production equipment is digitally linked using OPC UA communication protocols across key plant divisions, including Wire Harness Assembly, Mirror Assembly, Actuator Assembly, and Injection Molding areas producing exterior mirror components and Powerfold actuator components.
The workshop demonstrates how Factory Live Dashboards (FLD) and Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) convert raw machine metrics into actionable, real-time insights that minimize downtime, streamline daily operations, and empower fact-based decision-making. In addition, the session highlights how cross-functional collaboration enables continuous process optimization and rapid technology adoption across all manufacturing operations.
Furthermore, participants will examine deployed automation technologies, such as camera-based quality control in molding, sensors, industrial robotics, and AI inspection in mirror assembly, automated wire harness processes, and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for internal logistics handling.
Finally, the workshop outlines MMSEE’s ultimate vision: moving beyond real-time monitoring toward predictive maintenance, machine learning, and self-optimizing production systems. Attendees will gain practical knowledge on building a smarter, highly automated, and continuously improving manufacturing environment.
Magna Mirrors South-East Europe (MMSEE), located in North Macedonia, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and an early regional adopter of smart factory technologies. The facility houses specialized production divisions, including Wire Harness Assembly, Mirror Assembly, Actuator Assembly, and three injection molding areas producing exterior mirror components and plastic parts for Powerfold actuators. Guided by an in-house Industry 4.0 team, MMSEE connects equipment using OPC UA protocols, Factory Live Dashboards, and Condition-Based Monitoring. By integrating industrial robots, AI camera inspection systems, and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), MMSEE unites machines, people, and data to drive manufacturing excellence, efficiency, and quality.
Ultimately, MMSEE aims to evolve from real-time monitoring toward predictive maintenance and self-optimizing production systems to advance regional industrial modernization.
A two-day innovation festival packed with engineering competitions, hands-on challenges, workshops and showcase moments — built for creators, dreamers and doers.
